Student Comments:

I met Leslie while browsing the Christmas in Cotuit Art and Crafts show  a couple of years ago.  I loved her beautiful glass beads and I loved how she used color and texture in her designs.  After finding out that she taught classes in a variety of mediums including glass beads, I decided to give the gift of a lampwork glass bead class to my friend and business partner for Christmas last year.  Luckily, my husband caught my many dropped hints and gave me the same gift so we could share it together.

Leslie has a comfortable, easy teaching style.  She encourages exploration ,while giving tips to ensure you walk away from the experience, pleased with what you have created.  She has classes for beginners to experience jewelry makers.  She is generous with her knowledge, studio space and is very flexible about on-going tutoring.  I love to drop by, pay my fee, and say " Show me something new" or I will show her a bead I like and ask " How did they do this?" and watch  her recreate it.

A bonus to Leslie's classes is that you get to spend time with Leslie.  I can't say enough about her.  She is interesting, kind, generous, in touch with nature and art,  knows a lot about Cape Cod and has a lovely menagerie of animals on her property.

I would encourage anyone with a love for glass or metal work to stop by and sign up for a class with Leslie.

Sea of Beads Jewelry

Leslie  has opened a new world of the art of jewelry design and making and silver smithing to me of which I was unaware. In the past 8  months I have worked with silver, soldering, wire wrapping with gold and silver wire,  making glass beads, working with dichroic glass and knotting pearls!  Leslie's calm and friendly personality is a plus to her experience and knowledge.

She encourages you to explore your own designs and creativity and at the same time while subtly teaching you the  basics. When I first walked into Leslie's studio at her Open House and saw her beautilful beads and silver and gold work, I had no idea  of the possibilities that could be created in her studio.  I am still finding that out after several months and I look forward to more.

Leslie's calm personality is not only reflected in her work but in her love for the different animals she owns and her environment.  It was several weeks before I realized that the phone ringing sound I was hearing was not a telephone, but her pet parrot!

It is a treat for me to go to Leslie's Studio for workshops or lessons. I know that I will leave that evening having made something in two hours and go home completely relaxed.
